May 31 to experience ship dynamics over a three-week visit.

Change for plebes is 'like night and day'
7/3/2009: The Naval Academy takes
teenagers - top students, hyper-competitive athletes, driven
leaders - and spends a summer teaching them how little they
really know about discipline, time management, proper manners
and physical duress. They come out looking and behaving
differently. for for them and the people who love them,
Induction Day is a line of demarcation.

U.S. Naval Academy Induction Day 2009
7/2/2009: July 1 marked day one of
Plebe Summer for the Class of 2013 at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Induction Day began at 6 a.m. at Alumni Hall where the incoming
midshipmen sign in, go through medical examinations, have their
hair cut, receive standard issue gear and learn the proper way
to salute.

2008-09 Navy Athletics season-in-review
7/1/2009: The 2008-2009 sports season
ranks as one of the most successful in school history as the
Midshipmen set school records for total wins (317) and winning
percentage (0.67), which producing 19 All-Americans, 10 Academic
All-Americans, 13 conference athletes of the year, eight
conference coaches of the year and 11 conference.jpeg)
championships.
Bill Prom '09, son of WISNAPA members
Gerianne and Jeff Prom, New Berlin, received the
Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, named to the
First-Team All-Patriot League and was the second in Navy and
Patriot League runner in league history to earn Patriot League
Runner-of-the-Week honors in back-to-back weeks. in men's cross
country.

CBS College Sports to re-air Navy events this summer
6/29/2009: As part of CBS College
Sports Network's summer programming schedule, the network is
planning to re-broadcast several of the best games from this
school year as well as classics from seasons' past. the network
has planned several "themed" weeks of programming and will air
events ranging from 1996 to this past season.

6/27/2009: The Naval Academy will
welcome the more than 1,200 students of the incoming Class
of 2013 for Induction Day July 1. Induction Day marks the
beginning of Plebe Summer training, a demanding six-week
program designed to prepare new Plebes for life as a
Midshipmen and future officers.

Model ships
launch at USNA Museum
6/26/2009:
The Class of 1951 Gallery of ships on the second deck of the USNA Museum
houses collections of warship models from the 17th, 18th and
19th centuries. The models represent almost every rate and type
of warship built between the mid 1600s and 1840s. Preble Hall
houses the USNA Museum and has been under renovation for about a
year.
