For Mids, the start of something big
8/13/2010: Perhaps at no other point
in program history have expectations been higher for Navy
football. Navy's 2009 squad set the bar extremely high -
equaling a school record with 10 victories and capping the
impressive campaign with a blowout victory over favored Missouri
in the Texas Bowl. That win, coupled with another stunning upset
of Notre Dame during the regular season, earned national
attention as Navy concluded the year ranked No. 26 in the
USA Today/Coaches' Poll and No. 28 in the Associated Press
poll.

Strength coach
Brass'
passion pushes Navy to new levels
8/14/2010:
It's been said that college football games are often won in the
offseason. That is when players put in the work to become bigger
and stronger, faster and quicker. Per NCAA rules, members of the
coaching staff are not allowed to be present during those
offseason workouts. It is left to each school's
strength and conditioning coordinator to oversee the training
program and Navy is fortunate to have one of the best in the
business in Mike Brass.

Plebe families reunited
8/15/2010: It was a festive day at the
Naval Academy on Friday, as the freshmen got to see their
families for the first time since Induction Day on July 1. The
Class of 2014 bore little resemblance to the civilians who
entered the academy 44 days ago. Even when they were having
casual conversations, the plebes stood at parade rest, a posture
that is only slightly less formal than attention, and they
punctuated every comment with "sir."

the blistering summer they have endured along the Severn River.
The academy uses the same heat alert levels as the Navy and
Marine Corps, and only seven training days since July 1 failed
to hit "red
flag,"
or high alert status for some part of the day, academy officials
said this week.
