New Brigade Sports Complex has a
woman's decorative touch
12/27/07:
A lot of planning went into the Naval
Academy's new
state-of-the-art sports facility on Greenbury Point. The massive
170,000-square-foot Brigade Sports Complex will serve as the
center for skating, hockey, tennis, rugby, indoor golf training
and fitness and weight training for the Brigade.
USNA Athletic Director Chet Gladchuk picked a local artist for the
daunting task of painting 10 sports figures, each
"playing"
a different sport, all 20 feet off the floor. To make the task
more difficult, he gave only two weeks to complete the project,
working amidst all the other subcontractors racing to get their
own work done before the Oct. 27 VIP Opening.
