Hotels:
O'Callaghan
Annapolis Hotel
This full-service European Boutique
Hotel features luxuriously appointed guest rooms, The John
Barry Restaurant & Bar, meeting & banquet facilities,
video-conferencing, fitness & business center and valet
parking. Walk to Maryland's State Capital, US Naval Academy
and the many local downtown restaurants and shops. Priced on
the high side, but a rental car won't be needed since you
can walk to the Naval Academy.
Lowes Annapolis Hotel
Located downtown Annapolis within walking distance to the
Naval Academy. If they are having a function in their
ballroom, it is hard to get away from the noise.
Annapolis
Waterfront Marriott
Pricey, but worked out very nicely because we walked back
and forth to the Academy. Between the Marriott points built
up during Plebe year and a AAA discount, the room rate was
about $69/night before tax. During peak times, reservations
should be made quite a bit in advance to get the discount
rate.
The Marriott Residence Inn Annapolis
Located less than five miles from the Naval Academy, the
City Dock and the Maryland State House. Designed for a stay
of more than just a few nights in a suite that offers
separate sleeping, living and dining areas with full
kitchens, living rooms with pullout sofa beds and work desks
with high speed Internet access.
Navy Lodge
Location is great and very reasonably priced. Difficult to
get a reservation, however.
Sheraton Annapolis Hotel
Upscale, full service hotel adjacent to
shopping and a wide variety of restaurants. Within minutes
of the the US Naval Academy (with free shuttle service
downtown including a stop near the Naval Academy) and
the Historic District of Annapolis. Doug & Sue Beaupre
negotiated a set price of no more then $120 when their son
(Anthony Beaupre '12) was a Plebe. They found the staff to
be friendly and welcoming.

Staying in a rental home or
hotel during Commissioning Week is a personal preference. If you are
interested in renting a home, here are some member recommendations:
Gale Boyd
Born and raised in the Milwaukee area and prefers to rent to
Wisconsinites. She has a three-level townhouse near the Annapolis
Mass, off Riva Road, about 5 miles from the academy. The house
sleeps 12 with three baths. May be open at other times (i.e. Parent
Weekend). She is a Plebe sponsor and very close the the mids.

Breakfast Shoppe
Great breakfast/brunch place 10 miles from the academy in Severna
Park.
Cafe
Normandie
Voted #1 in Annapolis out of the 100 best restaurants in Washington
& Baltimore. Member Recommendation: Cream of crab
soup
Cantler's Riverside Inn
Get away from downtown and with wonderful local fish and the food is
amazing. It's a traditional Maryland crab house, very casual (as in
picnic tables) and great prices. It's off the beaten path, not far
from the naval Academy, about 4 miles east of the Severn River on
the water. Plan on waiting during major events in Annapolis, but
it's worth it! Recommendation: Best crab
experience.
Charthouse
Next to Lewne's in Eastport. Great salad bar and desserts. On the
high end.
Davis Pub
A hidden pub with great food one mile from the academy
Double T Diner
Located 4 miles from the academy, affordable prices and available 24
hours a day with a '50s style decor. Certainly not gourmet dining,
but a fun place to go. A popular spot for midshipmen.
Harry Brownes Restaurant
"High-end" restaurant, lounge, bar & grill, located across from the
Maryland State House. Member Recommendation: Crab cakes and cream of crab
soup.
Lemongrass
Thai food, located about 1 mile from the Naval Academy
Les Folies Brasserie
Located on Riva Road near the Marriott Residence Inn. Serves great
French food and good wine wine.
Lewnes Steakhouse
Located just over the bridge to the east of the Naval Academy on 4th
Street and Severn Avenue in Eastport. It's a little pricey, but they
serve the absolute best rib eye steak by far. Other favorites are
the lamb and filet mignon. One of the best wine selections we found
in Annapolis.
The Main Ingredient
Breakfast is a must. The bakery is also wonderful. 2.5 miles from
the academy.
Maria's Sicilian Ristorante
and Cafe
Located on Market Square next to Middleton Tavern. Moderately priced
Italian food which is very good. Great raw oysters as well. Very
nice wait staff too.
McCormick & Schmick's
Features fresh seafood, in addition to steaks, poultry, salads and
pastas. Located near the Annapolis Mall Shopping Center.
Middleton Tavern
Great historic building near State Circle, good fireplace and bar
room to watch games and eat lunch. Additional dining area away from
the bar. Recommendation: Steamed shrimp and chili
Mike's Bar & Crab House
Casual waterfront dining on the South River, dine outside or inside.
Located in Riva, a 15-minute drive from the Naval Academy.
O'Leary's Seafood
Restaurant
Next to Lewne's in Eastport. Good stead and seafood, a little
pricey. The restaurant is small and there is no waiting area.
Difficult to carry on a conversation with everyone seated close
together.
Osteria 177
Italian restaurant located in downtown Annapolis. Recommend getting
reservations for dinner.
Pusser's Caribbean Grille
Reasonably priced Caribbean cuisine. Located about 1/2 mile from the
Naval Academy. Can see the Naval Academy when dining outdoors.
Rams
Head Tavern
Steaks, chicken, fish and crab. Located 2 miles from the Naval
Academy.
Treaty of Paris
Four-star restaurant located inside the Maryland Inn. Good place for
breakfast or lunch. Famous for their French toast and popovers.
