At 10:30 a.m. care packages were filled with
treats for the Mids and deployed graduates.
At 11:10 a.m. Co-President Bill Campion opened
the meeting. He welcomed and thanked everyone for coming to
Manitowoc followed by the Pledge. He introduced special guest Robert
Young.
Families gave updates on their Mids and graduates. A prayer was
given before lunch.

Jane Campion called the meeting to order.
Jane introduced the guest speaker, Robert
Young, U.S. Marine Corps, Ret. Mr. Young grew up in
Green Lake,
joined the Marines at 18 and fought in the battle of
Iwo Jima. He spoke at length of his time growing up in
Green Lake, his marine training at Camp Pendleton, his battle
experiences on Iwo Jima, as well as his time spent in Japan during
the occupation. Mr. Young also had several interesting items on
display.

Meeting
Bill Campion made a motion to approve Steve and
Karen Voigt as vice presidents and Nancy Briski as secretary. The
motion was seconded, voted on, and carried.
The minutes from the June 6, 2009 meeting were
available on the tables for review. There was a motion to accept the
minutes, seconded, voted on and carried.
Copies of the treasurer’s report were available
for review. A motion was made to accept the report, seconded, voted
on and carried.
Bill passed along a thank you to the members
from former co-presidents John and Stephanie Kelling for the Academy
blanket that was given to them for their service to WISNAPA.
Bill reported on the 2009 Parent Club Officers’
Conference which was recently held in
Annapolis.
He stated there are currently 84 parent groups in the
United States. Attendance is up at
the Naval Academy and they are working towards more diversity.
There was a discussion regarding the November 7
Navy vs. Notre Dame game. Check the WISNAPA web site for updates on
tailgate parties.
Army vs. Navy Game
There was a discussion regarding the December 12 Army vs. Navy
game in Philadelphia. Approximately 30 of the 50 reserved rooms at
the Holiday Inn-Historic District remain available. November 13 is
the cut-off date for making room reservations. Room are $185 per
night.
Jan Haupt recommended that members check the
WISNAPA web site (www.wisnapa.org) if you want to buy or sell
football tickets.
Yardtales
Jan Haupt commended the Class of 2013 parents for submitting
the most articles for a fall issue of
Yardtales.
She also asked for any volunteers who would be willing take
photos for Yardtales at
the Army/Navy game and/or the 2009 All Academies Military Ball.
Anyone wishing to take photos should
E-mail them to Jan (or send
her a CD) and to also identify the parties in the photos, if
possible.
Jan will be contacting Firstie parents for
their mid’s service selection in November. Also, any Plebe (or
Youngster) parents who have looked at the Plebe Handbook and Plebe
Parent Handbook and have suggestions for changes, edits, etc. can
E-mail them to Jan.
Also, Jan is looking for updated photos of mids and
graduates. You may E-mail
those to her as well.
2010 All Academies Military Ball
Mike DeVillers gave an update on the planning of the 2010 All
Academies Military Ball. The ball will be held on Thursday, December
30, 2010 at the Country Springs Hotel in Waukesha. He is looking for
volunteers and suggestions regarding fundraising. Committees need to
be established (i.e. decorations, entertainment, etc.). He plans on
scheduling a committee meeting some time in January. Check the web
site for updates. More focus will be placed on this event at the
March 6, 2010 meeting.

Business
Bill introduced Capt. James Coulson (USNA ’77),
Deputy Assistant Blue & Gold Area Coordinator from Hudson who gave
the BGO report in Cmdr. Craig Walker’s absence. He thanked all of
the Blue and Gold Officers for their efforts and encouraged members
to become Blue & Gold Officers. The Naval Academy Summer Seminar
(NASS) opens for seniors on February 1, 2010. Candidate applications
are up 25 percent this year and it is a record year for interviews.
As of October 10, Wisconsin had three letters of acceptance for the
Class of 2014.

Business
Bill
Campion stated that the WISNAPA bylaws require that an audit be
completed of the treasurer’s reports. He asked for a volunteer to do
this audit by June 30. Maggie Coulson volunteered to help with the
audit.
Bill thanked everyone who brought
in treats for the care packages and asked members to help by taking
several boxes to the post office.

The next
meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Milwaukee
Yacht Club.
